In the wild West, there is an oasis where you can enjoy a desert getaway in a very Californian style. A few hours drive away from Los Angeles, the city of Palm Springs holds many mid-century architectural treasures. This summer, we paid a visit to the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, a must-stop if you are around.
Set against the backdrop of the desert hills, the former motel was redesigned in 2009 by the Ace design team in collaboration with LA-based studio Commune. They bought many Californian artists and artisans into the project. All together, they created a place where it definitely feels at home.
176 rooms, two big pools, a feel good spa, a high-quality restaurant and even a hall that you can book for private events, it has it all! In-tune with the desert vibes, there are plenty of intimate alcoves where you can gather around the fireplace and thus, enjoy the warm evening in a laid-back atmosphere.
While some rooms have a garden patio or a private fireplace, all interiors are decorated in a contemporary bohemian style. If you are lucky, you also get a record player and old vinyls to play music in your room.
An unforgettable experience, great music, delicious foods and drinks… the time just stops at Palm Springs Ace Hotel & Swim Club! Whether you want to unwind, disconnect from the world, relax or party, it is the place to stay at.
If by now, you are not convinced, just have look.
